  • Overview

    Lead engineering team in performing the functions listed below. This involves working directly with our customers as well as communicating directly with our hardware team in Japan.  At times this requires travel to customer sites and to our facilities in Japan.


    • Maintaining and understanding requirements documents.
    • Be able to “fill in the holes” in explaining requirements to design team.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to evaluate, design, implement and integrate customer requirements.
    • Conduct peer review meetings.
    • Provide S/W integration support to local engineers, customers, or off site teams.
    • Working understanding of software design.
    • Assist team in modifying/implementing software design.
    • Capture and Analyze Bus Logs, Debug and provide root cause analysis on issues to the customer and the MELCO design center.
    • Lead teams with release management, configuration management, re-flashes, vehicle trouble shooting activities.
    • Plan and deliver to a software release schedule.
    • Manage Software requirements, deliverables, and timings.
    • Write project plan document per ASPICE requirements.
    • Review quality related issues and provides initial approval of recommended improvements. Identifies and implements process and product improvements, as needed.
    • Investigates and follows up on major or non-routine customer field complaints. Recommends and implements resolutions.
    • Oversees, assigns and reviews work of lower level colleagues. Coaches and provides guidance, feedback and on-the-job training.
    • Lead the global software development team and supplier teams with SW development through full development life-cycle per ASPICE process
    • Document and track issues, maintain the list through the life of the program.
    • Lead issue tracking and progress tracking meetings with the supplier teams and the in house SW development team.
    • Provide regular status updates of task progression and open issues to manager for project planning, tracking and oversight.
    • Work on quality, design, development and release of assigned software project elements per ASPICE standards.
    • Support teleconference meetings with the supplier teams and the global design team in Japan (typically outside of normal working hours).
    • Limited travel to Japan for meetings with our design team.
    • Limited travel to customers’ sites for engineering meetings, presentations and field issues.
    • Support and assist the Senior Software Manager as needed.
    • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
    • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Audio, Video and Communications group by analyzing current processes, procedures and systems and makes recommendations for improvement for own job.


    For Quality and applicable site specific Environmental Systems, the associate is responsible for understanding:

    • MEAA’s policy and be able to fully discuss the importance of the policy and how his/her job can impact the customer and the environment.
    • The risks and consequences associated with deviating from management system procedures and the effect this can have on his/her employment at MEAA.
    • Associates responsible for conformity to product requirements have the authority to stop shipment and stop production to correct quality problems.
    • The associate has the responsibility and authority to immediately inform supervision or management if another associate or department deviates from proper practices that may impact safety, quality, or the environment. 


    • BSCS, BSEE or equivalent training in Software Development.
    • Customer management, supplier management and global development team management experience required
    • 3 yrs minimum experience in leading, managing and developing embedded or systems engineering teams using ASPICE process is strongly desired.
    • Proficient in the use of CAN tools (CaNoE, Vehicle Spy etc.) and standard Android SDK platform tools.
    • Fluency in Java, C, C++, JavaScript, etc is desired.
    • Working knowledge in open source Operating Systems is strongly desired (Linux, Android,etc.)
    • Must have a comprehensive understanding of current and future automotive systems operation (e.g. eAVB, different flavors of CAN, Etc.).
    • Automotive and infotainment industry experience strongly desired.
    • Written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
    • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office programs.
    • Experience with Jira, Gerrit, and Agile Software Development required.
