  • Overview

    Under general supervision, responsible for performing accounting functions related to Accounts Payable, assisting other Accounting personnel and additional accounting duties as assigned.



    • Process vendor invoices, check requests and employee expense reports in a timely and accurate manner. This includes meeting agreed upon payment terms and securing the appropriate payment authorizations based on established policies.
    • Properly code payable transactions to the correct general ledger accounts.
    • Distribute accounts payable checks.
    • Maintain an accurate and complete filing system containing pending and completed accounts payable documents.
    • Investigate and resolve accounts payable issues with vendors, employees and purchasing, as required.
    • Perform routine clerical duties as assigned, including preparing reports, filing, typing, copying, faxing, and assisting the supervisors with special projects.
    • Requires the operation of a variety of office machines and equipment.
    • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
    • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Accounting Department by conducting business with outside contacts, auditors, and other Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America departments in a timely and cooperative manner.



    For Quality and applicable site specific Environmental Systems, the associate is responsible for understanding:

    • MEAA’s policy and be able to fully discuss the importance of the policy and how his/her job can impact the customer and the environment.
    • The risks and consequences associated with deviating from management system procedures and the effect this can have on his/her employment at MEAA.
    • Associates responsible for conformity to product requirements have the authority to stop shipment and stop production to correct quality problems.
    • The associate has the responsibility and authority to immediately inform supervision or management if another associate or department deviates from proper practices that may impact safety, quality, or the environment. 


    • High School Diploma or GED, and 3+ years accounts payable experience or related computerized accounting environment.
    • Knowledge of accounts payable and journal entry procedures.
    • Written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
    • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office programs specifically in Word and Excel.
