    Coordinate the set-up, adjustment and operation of production work stations and automated equipment to maintain production output of quality automotive parts in accordance with production plans.  

     

    ** Starting wage is $17.60/hour **

    Responsibilities

    • Perform any of the Line/Machine Attendant work station duties and responsibilities in production area of responsibility as needed.
    • Lead the daily activities of Line/Machine Attendants by assigning work stations, monitoring production operations for quality output, answering questions.
    • Notify the production supervisor of any employee or production concerns, malfunctions, irregularities.
    • In the event of an unacceptable level of defects, inform Line Coordinator and/or Supervisor. If the situation is not remedied, Lead Operator may shut down a production line to investigate further.
    • Regularly check operating procedures to assure proper assembly and manufacturing operations and quality.
    • Monitor quality by performing regular quality inspections using precise measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, go no/go gauges and specialized test equipment. Determine if measured values are within model specifications. Mark defects appropriately.
    • Verify use of correct materials by inspection and parts lists; identify and correct process and material defects.
    • Schedule and perform start-up, shutdown and changeover procedures on production equipment.
    • Maintain an adequate stock of parts to supply the production operations.
    • Modify programs after tooling changeovers or if part dimensions do not meet production specifications; regularly check Machine set-up and parameters.
    • Perform routine, minor to medium machine troubleshooting and repair using control panel and small hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers and wrenches.
    • Complete lot control cards, process checksheets, daily target records, daily production sheets and daily log books to help eliminate process errors.
    • Read and follow written instructions and basic mechanical drawing specifications for equipment operations and changeover requirements.
    • Instruct and train Line/Machine Attendants on production operations. Operate hand tools to inspect for defects, correct repairable defects and machine troubleshoot.
    • Perform basic math calculations to maintain accurate counts of parts produced, adequate parts supply or program modifications.
    • Operate hand pallet truck to move materials to temporary storage locations.
    • Oversee and perform scheduled preventive maintenance of equipment.
    • Oversee and assist with the daily maintenance of tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Must be able to work Overtime
    • Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift
    • Verbal, written and cross-cultural communication skills, emphasizing interpersonal communication skills
