  • Overview

    Architect, implement, maintain and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure systems. This includes all aspects of managing a complete purpose built AWS system that that supports the MEAA DevOps team. Provide AWS technical support to internal and remote users as needed. Plan and design cost effective AWS deployments. Propose and develop architectural changes and enhancements to the AWS infrastructure.

    Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain an AWS cloud infrastructure architecture aligning security, compliance, performance and resilience with cost.
    • Hands-on experience with all phases of AWS firewall and network security operations, firewall change requests, firewall configuration, network services, and network security
    • Responsible for the planning, design, implementation, organization and operation of AWS Firewalls based perimeter security network and network security devices.
    • Deploy and management of AWS services - including but not limited to: VPC, Route 53, ELB, EBS, EC2, S3
    • Write Python, shell scripts to automate the backups and run the scheduled jobs
    • Monitor and maintain AWS systems.
    • Design and manage Configuration Management process consistent with DevOps requirements.
    • Strong sense of urgency in support of internal customer base. Ability to understand technical aspects of the business needs.
    • Complete tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Lead internal efforts by providing direction and feedback to other team members.
    • Work well under pressure and maintain composure in emergency events of system outages in order to lead the resolution of high-impact issues.
    • Prioritize tasks, complete daily job assignments, and organize workload to accommodate competing deadlines.
    • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
    • Know MEAA’s Quality Policy. Be able to fully discuss the importance of MEAA’s Quality Policy and how it impacts work.
    • Further the positive, professional image of the IT department by handling inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.

     

    Quality and Environmental Systems

    • Understand MEAA’s environmental policy, and how this position can impact the policy and the environment.
    • Know the consequences that deviating from documented procedures/practice can have on the environment.
    • The associate has the responsibility and authority to immediately inform supervision or management if another associate or department deviates from proper environmental practice.
    • Know MEAA’s Quality Policy. Be able to fully discuss how this position supports the quality objectives.
    • The associate has the ability to suspend production when product quality has become questionable.

    Qualifications

    • Oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Technical writing skills including system diagrams and processes.
    • Strong networking skill and problem solving ability.
    • Able to understand multiple aspects of integrated systems.
    • Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years’ experience in AWS support, or equivalent
    • AWS certifications a plus. (AWS-CSAA or AWS-CSAP)
