  • Overview

    Under limited supervision, responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Warehouse, Inspection, Repack departments to ensure customer satisfaction with both product and delivery. Direct and assign daily work assignments according to the schedule provided by the Production Control department


    • Coordinate with the Senior Warehouse Supervisor to instruct and train Material Handlers regarding day-to-day shipping and receiving activities, inventory control, safety and maintenance matters. Ensure Shipping and Receiving personnel are at appropriate staffing levels to ship/receive/disburse/store products in a productive and cost effective manner and oversee outgoing shipping operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and condition of shipments. Ensure warehouse staff is operating for the efficient flow of materials.
    • Coordinate with the Inspection Supervisor to instruct and train associates regarding the daily activities to inspect and adhere to the Production Control schedule for the Inspection department. Follow the rework or procedure as instructed by the QC/QA department. Balance the line as required. Ensure Inspection personnel are at appropriate staffing levels to meet customer demand in a productive and cost effective manner.
    • Coordinate with the Repack Supervisor to instruct and train associates regarding the daily activities to complete the repackaging schedule provided by the Production Control department in an efficient manner. Maintain and improve the quality performance of the Packaging line. Balance the line as required. Ensure Repack personnel are at appropriate staffing levels to meet customer demand in a productive and cost effective manner.
    • Coordinate with floor Supervisors to develop and implement means to increase departmental productivity, quality, and efficiency, maintain assets and training of personnel to achieve departmental and company goals. Maintain the 5S discipline.
    • Supervise staff according to company policies and procedures. Develop and be responsible to ensure employees are properly trained within the Warehouse, Inspection and Repack groups by training, cross-training, and providing continuing education opportunities. Ensure that quality and efficiency objectives are achieved in those areas.
    • Train personnel and implement KAIZEN techniques and practices to ensure a culture of constant improvement in the operations group.
    • Create, maintain and implement written procedures for the operations group as required.
    • Ensure the monitoring of shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
    • Verify the accuracy of computer entries and resolve any discrepancies within the assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends and transportation regulations by continuing education seminars and reading industry related publications.
    • Analyze shipping, receiving, inventory, transportation, and supervisory policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement and recommend changes as needed.
    • Communicate with hourly employees to discuss shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory problems; inspection/packaging schedules; safety; suggestions and areas for improvement; preventive maintenance and housekeeping/5-S duties.
    • With Supervisors, conduct formal performance evaluations for hourly employees to assess employee performance and help employees improve their performance. Administer corrective disciplinary actions, resolve employee complaints through impartial investigation, counseling, or corrective action.
    • Be assigned back-up to Supervisors to cover vacations or absences
    • Support Supervisors to maintain and monitor ADP, disciplinary action records, attendance figures, efficiency numbers, vacation records, paid absence records, accident reports, preventive maintenance reports, etc.
    • Analyzes current processes, procedures and systems and makes recommendations for improvement.
    • Support and assist the Operations Manager as needed.
    • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
    • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Operations Departments by analyzing current processes, procedures and systems and makes recommendations for improvement for own job.

    For Quality and applicable site specific Environmental Systems, the associate is responsible for understanding:

    • MEAA’s policy and be able to fully discuss the importance of the policy and how his/her job can impact the customer and the environment.
    • The risks and consequences associated with deviating from management system procedures and the effect this can have on his/her employment at MEAA.
    • Associates responsible for conformity to product requirements have the authority to stop shipment and stop production to correct quality problems.
    • The associate has the responsibility and authority to immediately inform supervision or management if another associate or department deviates from proper practices that may impact safety, quality, or the environment. 


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related area, plus a minimum of three years’ supervisory experience in the automotive manufacturing industry or equivalent.
    • Written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills, emphasizing customer relations skills.
    • Ability to travel to customer locations or MELCO locations.
    • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office programs.
    • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping, receiving, warehousing, transportations, distribution, and inventory procedures.
    • Root cause analysis and/or Green Belt/Black Belt certification preferred.
