  • Overview

    Under Account Manager’s supervision, act as a liaison between customers, plants and affiliate personnel in handling daily commercial issues, and coordinates and manages application engineering projects. Functions as contact person for customer engineers. Performs and/or reviews product planning, testing and analysis activities. Evaluates issues and provides resolution and handles more complex situations. Prepares and delivers complex technical reports and presentations. Develops, understands, and reports customer warranty data. Identifies future business opportunities and potential risks. Investigates competitor products.

    Responsibilities

    • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external customers to address and resolve daily issues, gather information, focus on customer and competitor trends, relate pertinent information back to management.
    • Manages cost analysis, tracking and coordination activities as required.
    • Manages and Develops business expansion activities; assists in the development of customer and product based strategies for specific products/commodities.
    • Implements customer/product based strategies, as directed by management. May gather and summarize information related to customers, competitors, business and market environment in order to identify and plan for current and future business opportunities. May assist in developing sales plans for existing customers and in identifying potential and/or future business opportunities.
    • Assists in development and executes sales and engineering plans.
    • Develops and assists team in the compilation, preparation, review, and submission of request for quotation (RFQ) materials and related information.
    • Assists in negotiating internally and externally regarding pricing, costs and timing. Assists in negotiating pricing and cost reductions with Mitsubishi Electric plants on behalf of the customer. Negotiates internally with plants on the timing of parts releases.
    • Handles daily issues related to prototype parts including ordering, negotiating deliver, price and payment.
    • Acts as a liaison between Mitsubishi Electric Plants, customers and affiliate personnel in addressing and resolving daily technical issues pertaining to delivery, timing, meeting customer requirements, capacity issues, and quality.
    • Coordinates and manages pre-production activities including processing orders, quoting pricing, developing new product schedules, coordinating tooling, ensuring part readiness, etc.
    • Maintains program timing and related activities including design changes, build out of vehicle, part number changes, obsolescence claims and packaging approvals.
    • Facilitates PPAP schedule and ensures launch preparedness by managing design changes and ensuring plants meet delivery targets according to customer requirements.
    • Works closely with materials management, production control and plan personnel in product phase-out activities to ensure no obsolescence.
    • Works closely in supporting and resolving technical, commercial, quality, and warranty related issues.
    • Assists Plants in investigating value-added (VA) opportunities and obtaining customer approval of process and design changes related to cost saving efforts. Monitors and tracks previously identified value-added (VA) opportunities.
    • Follow up and assist with the resolution of Accounts Receivable related issues. Ensures accuracy and completion of all related paperwork (purchase orders, airfreight bills, etc.).
    • Support and assist the Account Manager and/or Director as needed.
    • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
    • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the PB&C Department by analyzing current processes, procedures, and systems and makes recommendations for improvement for own job.

     

    For Quality and applicable site specific Environmental Systems, the associate is responsible for understanding:

    • MEAA’s policy and be able to fully discuss the importance of the policy and how his/her job can impact the customer and the environment.
    • The risks and consequences associated with deviating from management system procedures and the effect this can have on his/her employment at MEAA.
    • Associates responsible for conformity to product requirements have the authority to stop shipment and stop production to correct quality problems.
    • The associate has the responsibility and authority to immediately inform supervision or management if another associate or department deviates from proper practices that may impact safety, quality, or the environment. 

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; mechanical or electrical preferred.
    • SAE and/or other extracurricular activities.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Competitive and aggressive individual.
    • Ability to work independently
    • Written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication.
    • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office programs.
