Repair and maintain production machinery and equipment in functional and safe working order to support production operations. ***SIGN-ON BONUS***
Repair and maintain the equipment and machinery on all assigned production lines applying mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic principles in accordance with diagrams, operation manuals and manufacturers specifications.
Use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments & PC’s to perform assignments.
As needed, operate and program numerically controlled (NC/CNC) equipment and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s). Utilize equipment-specific software for set up, programming & troubleshooting of automation devices, including (but not limited to) robots, linear actuators, servo drives, variable frequency drives, HMI screens & vision systems.
Inspect and listen to sounds of machines and equipment to locate causes of trouble.
Interact with production personnel to ascertain equipment problems and observe equipment to determine what repairs or modifications are necessary.
Assemble new machines and equipment and start them as needed to test their operations.
Dismantle equipment to remove and repair defective parts.
Set up and operate metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, grinder, mill, band saw and welding equipment as needed to make and repair parts.
Perform preventive maintenance requirements on production line equipment and record maintenance programs.
Perform record-keeping duties to document maintenance schedules, work orders, purchases, and inventories.
Assist and train production personnel on preventive and troubleshooting maintenance procedures.
Notify supervisor of any irregular maintenance problems.
Routinely check equipment for potential safety hazards and implement safety improvements promptly after a need is identified.
Operate material handling equipment including forklifts. (Requires a valid forklift driver's license by completing MEAA certification requirements.)
Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in clean and orderly manner.
Work overtime on short notice, as needed.
High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree, or dedicated program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering very helpful.
Minimum of 2-3 years high speed manufacturing environment.
Machine maintenance and diagnostic/troubleshooting experience required.
Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge required
Familiarity with safety precautions such as Lock-out/Tag-out, Arc Flash protection, and welding, and personal protective equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and other machinery.
Be able and willing to work 2nd shift, along with overtime as business needs require. This may include Saturday and/or Sunday.
